Meet our nutritionistEleni Drossou
We all know good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with the appropriate physical activity. Our eating habit can help us reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce our risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote our general health.
The link between good nutrition and healthy weight, reduced chronic disease risk, and overall health is too important to ignore. By taking steps to eat healthy, we will be on our way to getting the nutrients our body needs to stay healthy, active and strong. Making small changes in our diet can go a long way, and following marathos’ recipes, it is easier than you think!
In marathos we have always been a devotee of nutritionists and professional dietary consultants. Our latest “procurement” is our collaboration with the incredible Thekla Gkioni, professional nutritionist and registered dietitian.
Thekla Gkioni is a Certified Clinical Dietitian and Nutritionist in Greece and Great Britain.
She is a graduate of Harokopio University in Athens, in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and a postgraduate of University College London (UCL), in Clinical Nutrition and Eating Disorders.
She has experience working as a Clinical Dietitian and Nutritionist in hospitals both in Athens and London, as well as in various companies in the food industry. Thekla gives nutrition speeches to both adults and children and her goal is to motivate and guide the world towards a balanced diet.
She loves tasty, nutritious and balanced food and that is why she loved marathos from the first moment.
The core of marathos’ recipes are the health benefits of Mediterranean diet. We therefore incorporate the traditional healthy living habits of Greece into the modern everyday lives of health-conscious individuals. Thekla Gkioni is here to answer all your dietary questions, not only on our recipes, but on healthy eating habits in general. She will inform us on foods needed for a healthy, balanced diet. She will answer your questions concerning the quality and the quantity of each food group to have what she calls a “well-balanced diet”. How much protein is too much, how often we should eat fish, what are the best food combinations, how necessary are the supplements, and many more questions and inquiries you might have.
You can watch our informative videos with loads of interesting information and reliable answers to all your dietary questions on our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube pages.
